The WWF is run at a local level by the following offices...
Strengthening Accountability
The Office of the Ombudsperson offers individuals and communities an independent channel to raise environmental and social concerns about WWF activities, and to have those concerns meaningfully addressed through a predictable and participative process.
The Office is also a source of continuous learning and improvement for WWF – providing advice to enhance WWF’s environmental and social outcomes and its engagement with local stakeholders.
PROMOTING
INCLUSIVITY
The Office engages with complainants and other stakeholders fairly and inclusively so that their voices help shape solutions to environmental and social issues, as well as WWF’s project outcomes. This includes individuals, communities and other stakeholders − such as Indigenous Peoples, minorities or vulnerable groups − who may be affected by WWF’s activities.
We respect the rights of complainants and other stakeholders, and adopt an inclusive approach to our work across the Office’s three functions − Problem Solving, Compliance and Advisory.
SOLVING
PROBLEMS
The Office of the Ombudsperson works collaboratively with complainants, other stakeholders and WWF to resolve concerns about the environmental and social impacts of WWF’s activities. If you or someone you know has been, or may be, adversely impacted by a WWF activity, you may file a complaint with our Office. For eligible complaints, the Office will conduct a voluntary, non-adversarial and impartial process to meaningfully and fairly address the concerns raised.
